Rick Schneider makes one-of-a-kind and limited edition sculptures, ornamental carvings, sculptural furniture, and graceful curving staircases. His work has been featured on HGTV's "Modern Masters" as well as "Lynette Jennings Design" on The Discovery Channel. Schneider's architectural creations have been pictured in Architectural Digest and on the front page of the New York Times, Home Section.
Rick is now working on Femme Florale, a collection of sculptures that unites the beauty of flowers and the human form. These sculptures are made of wood for indoor settings and are also available in cast bronze suitable for outside and garden locations. Passionate about his work, Rick takes pride in the skills and more than 30 years of experience that he brings to each project.
As a boy Rick was artistically creative and productive. While earning a B.A. from Cornell University, Rick nurtured his creative side by taking courses in drawing, painting, and history of art. By the mid 1970s, Rick was showing his sculptural artwork in galleries. In 1977 he built the studio in Monkton, Vermont where he still works.
Rick has worked on carving a major sculpture of a phoenix for the Garden State Racetrack. He carved the architectural details used to restore the House Chambers and the Executive Chambers ceiling in the Vermont State House. Rick has also created many prototype sculptures while giving form to other people's design visions.
